There are quite a few interesting (as well as funny) usernames here on Gyminee. How’d you choose yours?

I’m JuryDuty because about 10 years ago when I started using the web, I came across my first web app that required an 8-character username. I looked around my desk and saw my Jury Duty summons sitting there. So I typed in JuryDuty. I’ve been JD ever since.

How about you?

It was a spur of the moment thing when I signed into Gyminee. However I can say that DaddyBoy came about because:-

1) I’m a Daddy (obvious if you read my long long long long long lonngggggggg journal entries)
2) attempting to be a “young lad” or Boy again – midlife crisis. Did I mention the tattoo I had about a year ago? Ooops…

I thought of other names such as OldGit, The GreatPretender and various other concoctions but stuck with DaddyBoy. Anyone else?

My original name was fork because for years I neglected to train my legs, namely my calves. I avoided walking near open drainage covers lest I fell through.

Been hitting the weights more and have some better proportion now so I graduated to a new user name.

Mine was an easy choice. Gimpy Granny. I’m a Grandmother, and I don’t walk normal due to rheumatoid arthritis making my legs ( knees) not bend all the way nor straighten all the way and my feet hurt if I stand or walk too much. It helps to have a sense of humor about your imperfections. Sometimes. :-)

Phoenix’s are by far my favorite mythical animal… (besides the uber-manly Unicorn :-P )

Phoenix Within came from a point in my life a few years ago when I felt I had hit rock bottom and made a choice to turn my life around. It’s been my handle ever since.

I have had several screen names over the years, mostly when I was younger. However, when I started my current job, our e-mail address was out last name.first&middle initial. I thought for simplicity it would be easy to continue this as my personal screen name, but to keep the two separate I dropped the dot. My favorite, though, was probably laerte10. Laerte was a character in a Hamlet. I don’t know where the 10 came from.

I Lost 5 Lbs!

Mine is a variation of my name:

Liz (Elizabeth)
Anne
H

H actually isn’t the initial of my last name anymore, but much to the chagrin of my husband (of nearly a decade), I continue to use this as my user name just about everywhere. Old habits die hard!

So Lizanneh…but you can call me Liz. ;)

I do a late nite radio show in Vancouver BC of the same name. It embodies 3 aspects of life, sleaze, leisure, and seizure. As you may guess – its a fairly up tempo experimental show. Check it out www.sleizure.ca -d

In middle school a friend of mine started calling my kix, and then it caught on to the rest of the school. From then I wanted to use it on an e-mail address and came up with jus4kix06 (like “just for the fun”) and 06 is the year I graduated…. Nothing to exciting.
