Exporting data to StrongLifts

I might be able to write a script that grabs the data from Gyminee and puts it into StrongLifts. Let me play around with it a bit. Maybe I will start a topic in StrongLifts forum to discuss this.

this is a young site

and they do have a crap-load of tools and data. They seem to be commited to streamlining the navigation and responding to what the users want, so I'm going to stick with it for a while yet. The few other sites like this I've glanced at were always more focused on fat loss and cardio.

My biggest (unlikely) wish is to be able to export my workout data to my workout log on stronglifts. I've fiddled around with the widgets they offer, but couldn't get them to work.

Another benefit of calendar scheduling is that the exericse name is displayed in addition to the dumbbell icon. I need to put in a feature request though because you should be able to click on the dumbbell, heart, etc. icon and go to that item instead of a daily summary screen. Daily summary screen should be for clicking on the date number.

Pro not so bad but not enough more...

$5 per month is not bad but now that I have played with it a bit, I would not have paid just yet. I expect the site to improve. I have read about this site and it is young. A lot of the features are fairly recently added. This site was mentioned in some BBC news on cool web sites.

I suppose a nice feature about Pro is meal planning. Personally, I don't like doing that as I mentioned before. But if you do, it is good to have it along with nutrition and workout all in one place. I would think that the planning should allow actual foods rather than food groups but maybe I do not fully understand the concept. Anyway, I am done with that feature. I was just testing it.

I'm not going to use gyminee pro.

*Custom body metrics- I'm happy with the options in the free version.

*Pro workouts and meal plans- yeah, right.

*Calandar, groceries, advanced nutrition- just not that useful to me.

I'll probably shell out for Mehdi's new forum, for a while at least.

I have found this website, which reminds me a lot of stronglifts. The main difference is that it is more about aesthetic improvements (it has curls in the program), but the focus is still on compound lifts, and it has some sound advice. www.worldfitnessnetwork.com

I don't know about calories/carb cycling. I suppose I am doing calorie cycling of sorts. I was aiming 2250-2500 but cheated and didn't record beer consumption. I did extra cardio but I doubt that it was a break even.

I gained some fat back recently and am now aiming 1900-2200 kcal per day with no beer until 3 lb of fat loss. After that, I will limit to 6 pack of Michelob Ultra (64 kcal and tastes much better Miller Lite). I will then do planned cheating of one six pack per 1lb of fat loss. Obviously, if that results in fat gain, then I get no more beer.

Let me know how it goes, right now it will be a choice for me, which online thingy to subscribe to. I think Stronglifts Forum is probably the best resource for me.

Tom Venuto's site is how I hope stronglifts DOESN'T end up like. Everything there seems like you have to be an "inner circle" member. With enough poking around you can find all of the info out there - it is just hard to know who is right.

What is your opinion on calorie and carb cycling? I am so deathly afraid of getting into "starvation mode", but one thing I did get from Venuto is that people who are lean can slip into starvation mode easier than those of us with more flab.

Cheers dude.

I signed up. Figured $15 for 3 months to fully decide and then cancel or re-up. So far, I have only tested the workout scheduling on the calendar. Nice. It was easy to set up alternating A/B workouts by using the every other week setting.

I am not fond of meal planning but will check it out anyway. I usually decide in the morning what I feel like eating throughout the day. The only times I plan is when meat needs to be thawed, need to buy food from grocery store, or I need to eat leftovers.
