I've been having trouble keeping the same 20lbs off my whole life...anyway, are there any fellow veggies out there with any advice on getting adequate protein intake while remaining within my fat limits???

perhaps...

I like the trader joes tofu burgers and the litelife fake sandwich meat for veggie protein.  Also tofurkey makes some great italian sausages that are meatfree and all are good sources of protein with little fat...and yummy...

try the gardenburger BBQ ribs too...i don't have any idea if they're decent for fat intake but they taste super good...

Protein for veggies

I eat a lot of pulses and find that they help me meet my protein requirements without adding any fat. Though if you eat tinned baked beans, watch out for the amount of sugar and salt that is often addedd, and choose the healthiest one.

I really like the tinned bean salad from Sainsbury's - I just add them to a salad or in a chilli.

Cheese is a good source, but then you also to watch the amount of fat it contains....

Also, have you tried Quinoa (pronounced keenwar)? It's a seed very similar in look to couscous but full of important proteins and B vitamins for veggies. I love it, and regularly add it to soup for bulk or in a salad.

Hope this helps!

I'm vegan and trying to lose weight too! Good to see other veggies on here. I have some standbys for meals, I eat brown rice pasta alot, which is just brown rice and water, so, very simple and healthy. And, I love Boca Meatless Grounds, so versatile and low in cals, it can be used in spaghetti sauces, chili, or tacos. I just stick within my calorie allotment and try to eat as healthfully as I can.

pulses?

What are pulses?  It isn't easy finding low fat, high protein and still low in carb foods for me out here in Columbia, MO.  I use protein powders, boca/morning star products and Quorn typically.  It's the carbs I need to cut out...

hello

i have written down a vegan menu with adequate protein intake. I'd love to share it with other vegans/vegetarians.
