So I hadn't hit up the Y in a minute, so today I decided to go during lunch instead of studying, or makin MOW runs, or eatin pizza in an office luncheon or some other excuse....Shit felt good too, real talk. Only thing that didn't was interval running after the power cleans....It almost immediately made my knee sore but i just kept running....Its either because I havent done any interval running in like a month now, or that I never used to do it on the same day as I did Olympic workouts and I did just that today, or because I tried running in the same (flat soled) shoes I use to power clean....I dunno. But something tells me Im gonna feel verrrryyyyyy sore tommorow morning. Which I will be sure to enjoy.

My kids are good! I am staying active on gyminee but have to work on the food thing. I bet you can eat whatever you want and not gain weight..........NOT ME!! Oh well enough complaining about being fat - I gotta do something about it! So take care and stay active!! :)

To answer your ?: Iliotibial Band Syndrome is one of the leading causes of lateral knee pain in runners. The iliotibial band is a superficial thickening of tissue on the outside of the thigh, extending from the outside of the pelvis, over the hip and knee, and inserting just below the knee. The band is crucial to stabilizing the knee during running, moving from behind the femur to the front during the gait cycle. The continual rubbing of the band over the lateral femoral epicondyle, combined with the repeated flexion and extension of the knee during running may cause the area to become inflamed.

Aight, so I know this is gonna sound crazy as hell, but I think im somehow addicted to going to the gym mon-wed-fri....I dont mean me me, no i mean my brain....Aight, lemme back up. So for the last two or some weeks, Ive been having a headache like clockwork after 3 or 4pm righ? lasting for the whole day after that....Ive been like,"wtf, do i have a tumor in my head or somethin?". But anyway, so today, for the first time in like 2 or 3 weeks, i go to the gym on my lunch like i used to....BAM! No headache.....Coincidence? I dunno man....There must be some neurotransmitter my brain releases after a workout that its gotten addicted to and it punishes me for not going to the gym by giving me headaches....crazy theory? Weak evidence??? I dunnnnnnnnnooooooooooo.

So I've been slacking recently and havent hit the gym in like 3 weeks. But for good reason tho, really....Schools back in play and Ive got mad volunteering opportunities Im trying to take advantage of and basically just too many thing siphoning off my time...I dont think Ive lost or gained any mass though but Ive prolly become weaker....Which sucks. But anyway, if I can overcome the inherent inertia i seem to have grown, i'll get at the gym today on my lunch break...Heres to hopin i dont cramp up like a lil biiiiiiitttttttttcccccchhhhhhhhh

lol I did try to look tough on my pics. If I can look as lean as you look on your pics I'll be happy. Oh I know about your Judo & lots of other things...well, not really, I just read it on the fightbook forum. :) I've been training jiu-jitsu for 6 months now, so i'm only a white, I'm also trained in TKD, on&off since 16yrs, I spent 2yrs in Korea and have 1st dan BB. I do think jits is applicable on street fights; most street fights end up on the ground and jits teaches you how to defend yourself from the bottom position. If you do the techniques right, you can achieve dominate position and start breaking some bones or just smashed their head into the ground. it surprising how little force one needs to break certain bones. I love it. I'm all into it, unfortunately I'm usually the only girl in training. I did watch the UFC fight. Rashad Evans is a bad ass, I did know he went to Michigan State for wrestling, & he was an assistant coach there. That fight was great, he looked good on them shorts! yeah, my husband trains too, he's wrestler & grappler and used to coach HS wrestling. he also trained a local pro-fighter who's 6-2 now. We spar all the time, light contact.

So I've fucked my buddy up with the interval running I did yesterday....Like it's seriously sore...Everything...Im walking like an old man...I had planned to hit the Y Thursday afternoon but now I don't know if I'll be recovered fully enough to do so anymore....Only differences with the interval training from yesterday was that I took my dog with me on the run (I was smokin that little mutt a couple times too...ha! He cant keep up! BELIEVE IT!) and I ran thru my neighborhood instead of at the Y (different surface elastic values, so different strains on my body). God my body hurts....I'll bet you my dog is aching more tho! ;)

Yah, it is a weight belt - I left my hot pink one at home ^_- . When I'm working my lower back I'm not gonna take a risk and jack it up. Some gainked my leather one... remember, I'm an old mofo... back when I was your age they didnt even have these T.V.'s and flying machines or this here sodee pop... ummm... what was I talking about?? -_^ As for the weight, yah - I popped back up to 205 just haven't updated it here. I think that adding creatine most likely contributed to the extra muscle gain. Oh and lifting helped too ... Only took it for like 3-4 weeks. <end code>

Soo..................class starts tommorrow. Which is bullshit. Summer just got here! Anyway, because of classes, my Mon,Wed,Fri routine will mos definitely be broken up. I've gotta figure some new shit out or I can just not work out this semester like a couple semesters back and put my extra high metabolism to work....Dunno about that though....I probably wouldn't gain any fat but I would lose power.....And THAT would suck....I fuckin hate school. Wassup Nick! I haven't posted progress pics but Matt and my GF have seen some great change since we started 3 weeks ago. I'm down 3.5lbs now and getting my butt whooped by Cardio Kickboxing this week. Matt's been doing a great job at it too! I think i'll post some pics after I lean out way more, as i'm been more motivated everyday by Matt and fellow coworkers and you guys. P90 is definately extreme, it's been great as we're getting stronger every week and the changes to our bodies come so fast. I highly recommend it.

I am FINALLY starting to see some progress! =) Really though, I wanna keep this routine going when the fall rolls around because I hear exercise is a great way to reduce stress and improve learning =) WHich I am not good at BY NATURE!!! Yah, it's basically for the people who don't know *ish* about the accelerometer I guess. Originally this was for the iPod which doesn't have that capability. But I did what you suggested and instead of the usual PBJ toast, I made me a tasty omelette with bunches of protein... cheese,turkey, and obviously eggs... And I feel so much better right now. not in med school yet. i'm at BYU and i'm taking an anatomy class this fall, so i downloaded the netter's app to help get the jump on the class. it's way intense, BYU actually has cadavers for the anatomy class, which is very rare for undergrads. i'm thinking about going to OU (University of Oklahoma) Med School when I graduate. but yeah, i highly recommend the anatomy app. i love being able to study when and wherever. where you going to med school?

Clean & jerk only about 205, I don't do a lot of them, I just try and work them in when I can on the weekend - a set at the end of a workout. I'm limited by where I work out (basement), I cant be dumping bars on the floor. The lunch workouts are a pile of different drills I do. I'm training a few co-workers so I take them to a hill and we do sprints, suicides, sleds ... about 20 min in total. Muay Thai vs. TKD, the age old question of what technique is best. Is the best the one you don't have to use, or the one that wins ... Regardless its all fun and a hell of a skill and workout. I've boxed in the past and now I want to get my feet up to snuff - for an old man.

Joined interval training now.

Should work out great. IM doing P90X resistance training Monday Wednesday Friday at 6AM, abs on Tue Thur Saturday at 6am with cardio. Then Im bustin another cardio session everyday at 11am too. Dropped 8lbs since day 1. The nutrition tracking is definitely helping me stay on track and keep my fat and carbs in check. My problem is..

Getting to swim often. It's fine now while I'm in California, but when I get to Alaska I won't be able to, I need to find a way to stay in shape while my knee is healing for a year. It's full on dystrophy for my right leg right now, and while it's weakening, the rest of me is gaining fat, because I can't run I can't bend it past a certain angle, I can't put too mouch weight on it, it's hard to climb stairs, is basically what I'm sayin'

BTW - have you heard of an iPhone app called "Snapture"? It lets you take multiple shots at once (up to three) and timed shots that countdown. It comes in really handy. I use it myself and it's awesome. I can email it to you if you don't have it - just let me know.

Well my clean has stalled at about 1x+ bodyweight. I sprained my back doing some dead lifts so pulls that way are a bit limited. I have been doing a upper/lower split and was kickboxing but have switched to Muay Thai. I started a combat conditioning for a group at lunch so now I'm at it 10 times a week.

2nd time its happened

I was installing an application and opened up the settings screen. BAM it froze. Pressed the power button and the home button for 7 seconds and it powered down then on again. Tried hella times to restart it. It would get to the apple logo and sits there. Let it sit for over 45 mins and nothin. It is terribly annoying.

Nah, not at all. My legs don't fatigue easily so it's cool. Like I said, I've done it before up until 1 month ago due to the fires out here. Plus, when I was riding it was 100+ outside... this will be MUCH easier. I hate working out late though. The upside to it however is that research shows that afternoon (3 p.m. to 7 p.m.) is the best time to exercise for both endurance and for building muscle. Holla
