Finish Line 5K - Hello! I just competed in my first 5K and it was amazing! I ran in the Finish Line 500 5K which was held in Indianapolis just an hour after the Mini. I was really nervous leading up to it, but all of the stuff that I'd read about race day was right....my time was faster than it usually was (even on my best practice days) and I beat my goal by almost a minute and a half. I am ready to go out and run more 5K's to work my way up to run the mini next year. :)

I am back.

Here I am...hopefully this time for good and on a more consistent basis. Lots of stuff going on....too much to talk about on here to complete strangers...but I swear since I turned 30 it is as if my body has decided that things are just going to go wrong...VERY wrong. I found out that I might have exercise-induced arrhythmia and I have been in and out of the doctor's office in the past week and have an appointment with a cardiologist this Friday so I am very limited on the type of exercise I can do....but I am not going to stop until they tell me I can't. :) Praise God I am still breathing, right?

Hoping...

I was hoping to be further along in this...but things have been crazy. I have had two friends to into premature labor in the past 2.5 weeks (one was 4.5 weeks early, the other 17) and it has been one heck of a roller coaster ride! God has revealed so much to me in the past couple of weeks through these experiences and as I face big decisions ahead. As the anxiety creeps in and the temptation to doubt tries to overtake me, I keep praying, "Your Kingdom come, Your will be done in my life....no matter what that means..." :)

Day one.

So I started running last night and it went really well. I have suffered from reactive hypoglycemia for several years, which makes strenuous exercise difficult for me at times, causing my blood sugar to drop quickly and oftentimes causing me to end up on the floor from blacking out. It is a little frustrating because I enjoy strenuous exercise but have been very limited in what I can and cannot do. I started off last night by running a mile and wasn't too disappointed in how I did considering I haven't run since the summer. I suffered a 29 day migraine at the end of the summer forcing me to take a long unwanted break but I knew that I needed to in order to get my health under control and take care of myself. The findings were that I had cervical (neck) arthritis which was causing pinched nerves up and down my spine, causing severe migraines. Ugh. It was horrible. Luckily, though, with the help of a neurologist who was very pro-active, we were able to find the right concoction of medication to get me back on track. So here I am....day two. I am getting ready to go work out again and am pleased to say that I made it through my first work out with nothing but some sore thighs. ha ha. The costs of living healthy! Praise the Lord that He has given me another chance to get my mind, body, and spirit back in shape. I have a lot to work through right now and a lot of decisions on my plate right now as I look at my family and try to figure out what is best for us. Thanks for reading. :)

Here I am...

So I just joined Gyminee after looking for help on training for a 5K taking place in Indianapolis in May. I am pretty excited about this site and pretty excited about what God is doing inside of me and what I believe will show on the outside of me as I continue to move forward in this 'weeding out' process of my life. thanks!
