Three months to lose some serious weight

My doctor wants to see me in 3 months and I need to lose some weight by then. I want to be at 155lbs and I'm currently around 175. Did not start off too well today since breakfast was some spam, eggs, and rice (typical breakfast here in Hawaii). I know I need to break that habit quick.

Back after a long layoff

Had about a month layoff due to business travel and illness. Worked out today doing 5min on the eliptical followed by 15 dips, 10 pullups, 20 kettlebell swings, 10 squats holding 35lbs medicine ball, and 20 pushups. Did this for a total of 4 intervals. Felt pretty good specially after that layoff. I just joined the 12 week Muscle builder and weight loss program which I'll be starting on Monday.
