Happy weight

After several months of efforts, I have lost little weight but definitely accomplished a lot. Not only do I have healthier eating habits, but I also workout almost every day of the week. It's addictive! And feel great, energy levels are peaking, and everything else in life that once was sour is now sweeter than ever. Everything is going phenomenal, grades, relationships, goals... Could not ask for more! So yes, this IS my happy weight and I do not intend to go any lower by intention. I will continue working out and focusing more on gaining muscle mass and definition. Numbers do not bother me anymore... maybe during Calculus and money now and then but that's about it. ... Yay. ^.^

I certainly understand your stress level, I put on 15 pounds in nursing school years ago. Sounds like you are doing great both in wt loss and school. Glad you log your food it helps me to see what others are eating, it gives me ideas on what to eat. Keep up the good work.

Cheat day

Overall, it has been a very stressful week for me. Lots of deadlines to meet as well as studying to get done and comprehending the basics of thermodynamics in less than a week! I have two major tests coming up next week and I am committed to making no less than an A because I need to in order to have an average of at least a B! *tear*. I am proud of myself however because I have been able to squeeze some gym time here and there. Strictly cardio and nothing else, really need to learn some strength moves. Love the way cardio burns the calories though, nothing compares! In order to decompress, I went out with my love yesterday and ate at our fave restaurant! I had veggie fajitas and skipped the tortillas and rice, and had a margarita! My first one ever! Didn't love it but it did wonders when it came down to being my usual silly self x 1000 :p ... Aha and I ate like a million chips too but no biggie I'm sure it wont significantly add the pounds. I'm going to the gym today and tomorrow between study sessions. Hope everyone is doing well! Thanks for the support!

Hey, sorry to hear about the grades... I know I had trouble with that when I was in school (100 years ago). I would study, then when I started to get tired I would go out an run or exercise. Then come back and study. I used it as a way to keep me up to study instead of coffee. That way I got my exercise in and got some studying too.

hey Bam-b! It's only natural to panic when we lose balance. Nobody wants to fall on their face :-) I think it's a great idea to focus more on your school work! But I also think you really enjoy your exercise. I know it's extremely difficult, but with the right amount of focus, I think you can find a way to balance both just right. Find that sweet spot and hit it hard ;-)

SCHEDULE CHANGES

Today I feel sort of bummed out because I realized that my dedication and determination to my fitness is taking a toll on my academics. I do dedicate quite some time to studying on a daily basis; however, it appears that it is not enough for my learning needs :( I can honestly say that I did not KNOW wtf I was doing on my Calculus test today.... and that very likely it will be a C or B... which will look terrible on my transcript being that C or B turn out to be the final grade! I hate to admit that I am going to have to cut back on my weekly gym visits and focus more on doing my homework the same day as the lecture as well as staying up a little later reading and re-reading. I am so upset about this... :( This time I can truly say that it is not my fault! I'm going to try working out in the afternoon though I know that leaving the gym for the end of the day usually ends up in failure! Wish me luck peeps! In the meantime, I'll watch ya'lls progress vicariously :)

It's hard to believe it gets better than this!

Well to be honest, my real goal is not to lose weight, but to burn fat. It's just very easy to tell you've burned fat when you've lost weight. :-) I've been switching every other day between cardio and strength training. I think regardless of losing weight, I'm probably accomplishing my goal. Circuit training is a great idea! Ever heard of interval training? It sounds like you're extremely happy right now. I'm really glad to see that. Keep it up!

Hi! I am not doing any diet program just trying to tone up and i still am eating the right amount of carbs for my diet, just not going over as I used to BIG TIME!!! I am nonetheless trainning to run a 5k have got pretty close but never completed...is just a dream! I love running, just don~t have alot of estamina, so after 20 min running I am done! plus my knee bothers me...oh well! I want to someday be like you and work out at least 5 days a week i hit the gym 3x and run 2x its good for now...i like you profile pics...you good motivation for me when i read your entries...good stuff ttyl!

It only gets better!

I've been working out daily for two weeks now and it feels great! I haven't lost much weight-wise but clothes are fitting extremely loose, which is great news! Shopping time! Yay..! I'm a little bit upset though because some of these garments are so cute and pricey... ikes can't always have it all! Working out early in the morning has also helped me stayed focused at school and allowed me to stop taking my ADD meds. I've been making nothing but As, thank GOD! Everything's been great! New beginnings really worked out for me ^^ and it only gets better every day.... I get to take another vacay on December so counting down to that as well! And extra motivation to look good because my summer will be on December! Ahhh feels good to decompress! Hope everyone is doing great as well!!! Getting cooler here... at last! Okie hollaback peeps! Keep it real ;)

In the upcoming month, I plan on focusing more on stregth training and resistance because I have noticed that when it comes to definition, I lack lots! Not to mention, no one wants to be a weaklin!!!! But why oh why does it have to hurt SO much??? I'm always afraid that I might be doing it wrong, how to gain the confidence and assurance that the exercise is being done properly?? Ah the insecurities... :p Weight wise, doing great! Cutting carbs down little by little to see if it would help a little bit.

So I haven't had much time to work out lately but I can still manage to squeeze a few minutes of cardio here and there... I am not fully moved into my new place yet and everyday I arrange furniture or unpack boxes or find something to do so that in itself is a huge load of daily physical activity. Good ol days

What up what up what up B.....Yea, the good ol days, aka summer, are done with....Since class started Ive had like no time to be hittin the gym and because of that, havent been as active on Gyminee either....I've put on like 2 lbs...Dont know if thats fat or if its just my normal weight cyclin from 203-209....If I get above 210 then I know fo sho Im gettin fat. I dont think that'll happen tho cuz I think my metabolism is high enough to fend off fat despite me not going to the gym this whole semester...Im volunteering and do a whole bunch of shit this sem so Ive got no time...on the bright side, i got to see an endoscopy at the hospital today! hahaha, that shit was so fun...I was glued to that tv of the pipe going down the womans esophagus/stomach/small intestine like it was an episode of Heroes! ;) Ay, what happened the other day on MSN? Laggin... the bad kind.

Jet lag rocks, especially when you end up at the other side of the globe, but it's not the case this time around... After being away for exactly two and a half weeks, returning home to the everyday simplicities has been rather difficult getting used to. I moved into my new place, (yes, mine!) and there is mess everywhere I look, behind every corner. The corners of my mind are pretty messy too, there is lots of cleaning up to do! The task list goes on and on and can't seem to find the time or strength to do or accomplish much. Classes resume tomorrow and I do not have a clue of what is going to happen or how the semester is going to be affected by the whole hurricane situation. Thankfully, my weight has not been significantly affected by the lack of fresh produce and dairy in my diet these past two weeks. Add lack of exercise to that. New beginnings... gotta love the clearing after a big storm :D bright future... bid shades! Here we go ... ^.^

Plyometrics

I tried a new and exciting way to burn the calories todays in my Fitness class. It's called Plyometrics and it involved the body's own weight and lots of cardiovascular exercise. I can honestly say it kicked my bum and I was surprised at how a few lil gay moves one after the other can make a girl break a sweat! So try it :p

Hey!

Well, some of those burnt calories were from weight lifting. I jogged on the treadmill and burned around 350 calories. I also walk after a couple of songs in order to burn more fat. I concentrate on doing more cardio b/c I have a layer of fat on my thighs and lower back that will not go away w/ just weight lifting. I try to mix it up by doing treadmill work, going out on a blacktop road and walking then maybe throwing in some sprints. You are looking great by the way!

Goal

So my goal was to hit 130 by August 25 aka first day of school.... Um... It's looking good but I have my doubts! I stopped taking my meds and found love in all the wrong places... I soothe my frustration with crunchy and chewy sweets from the local Deli and I immerse myself in deep thinking in front of the tube. I'm stoked that school will be starting soon, mainly because of my Physical Ed class. I hope the professor is truly dedicated to the field and whips my bum back in shape. Hope everyone is well! Ay B, I dunno it MAY be your shoes (they worn out? Had em for a minute?) but I would guess that it's the treadmill itself. Running on the treadmill has been found to be pretty put more stress on your knees and ankles than running on a track whether inside or outside. I stopped running on a treadmill like 6 months back and now only run on a track...But then again, my Y has a track...Does yours? Also, I doubt your form is bad, but keep in mind while running to keep vertical displacement to a minimum. You literally run in such a way as to maximize your heads horizontal displacement but minimize its vertical displacement. When I run, that's how I check if I'm bobbing to much...I just turn my awareness to my head for a moment and make sure its not moving too much in the vertical direction.

So Bamb, which one did you pick? What's your endgame goal? I didn't consider you may want both and didn't offer any advice for that so here goes: Just do a split routine. Like, on Mon and Fri, I do my olympic workouts (whose endgame goal is increasing my power) and on Wed I do HIIT running (interval running, which has the endgame goal of fat burning thru an elevation of my basal metabolic rate). thanks so much for the pick me up. yeah... its been a hard few days but today was so much better! i felt good and havent wanted to eat peoples faces off because i want brownies. i used to be in good shape... until i got sick last year. nothing serious, just pneumonia... but it just put me in this eat whatever and however much you want and i stopped all exercise. yeah... well 50 damn lbs later, i'm so fat i dont fit into any of my clothes. when random coworkers are asking if i put on a bunch of weight its time to do something! no more mr. fatguy! lets do this bambolina! must. destroy. fat. if i myself only had 30 minutes, i would decide whether or not i could make up the strength training or not the next day. cause i'd rather get all my weight lifting days in before cardio. cardio = faster weight loss, strength training = longer lasting weight loss.

LMAO - While reading your journal below the image that first came to mind is you doing the Frankenstein walk. I know the walk and soreness all too well when 1st working out as well as trying out a new workout that targets different muscle groups that are rarely used. I've been there so ur not alone! OK, my advice - go hard. There are two different approaches here however. Cardio: Hit cardio hard (increase your max by 20-30%) for 5 min on, then 5 min off where you're just walking - not running - at a fast pace to cool down. Do that for 30 minutes. For strength training do I would recommend doing supersets. If you are unfamiliar with supersets they are when you work the same muscle group back to back. So your doing two different excercises and alternating between them. I think that it's great that you're so involved and determined to stick with it! Work those muscles 'n show 'em who's boss! ^-^ - BTW - this site works really well on my iPhone, loads super quick. Did they change something!?

Anyway, that is really a question to ask yourself B because it all depends on your endgame; on your goals. Is your goal to burn alot of fat/lower your body fat percentage/increase your cardiovascular efficiency? Or is your goal to firm up, tighten, or build the best damn bubble butt ever? Two different questions with questions that ultimately result in two different approaches.

Lunges + Deadlifts = 69 x Love/Hate

I love the results I can get with these two powerful moves! When done correctly, a slight and tingling burning sensation will be felt for hours and days on end! I am in extreme pain from the exercises performed yesterday... Can't walk, and can't sit either! Call me a masoquist, but I'm loving this ... I'll do some more tomorrow if I have time! A QUESTION FOR THE PROS/BIG BROTHERS of Gyminee: When on a tight schedule, is it best to go with Cardio or Strenght exercises? I'm talking about approx. 30 minutes available. Thank you!

Wow.....That is scary, really tho. The only thing I'd be inclined to first consider is that maybe its just that you're sick of whatever you eat for breakfast? Sometimes, I get sick of whatever cereal I usually eat and thats my cue to switch it up...I mean, if you're fed up with it, of course you're not gonna "want it"...feel me? try switching it up and let us know....Otherwise, I will drive down to Florida myself and raid your fridge...And trust me, you do not want me in your fridge unless you want it stripped of anythin and everythin to eat. APPETITE LOSS

A rather scary subject I considered noting about on My Journal... Being the food lover that I am, it was hard for me not to notice the distance that has been growing between me and the subject of my appreciation. Every morning, upon returning from the gym to my small allotment of property I wish I was entitled to call home, I tend to eat a hearty breakfast. I had difficulty "wanting to" both yesterday and today. I could not make it to the 1000 calories and I feel like I am going to explode. What could be wrong? This is troubling to me... My fridge is packed of goodies that I'd hate to see go to waste! And if my body forsakes me and goes into starvation mode, I will be devastated... What can I do? Why is this happening to me?

No brainer that I will work out today regardless of IT being Sunday because I AM terrified that tomorrow I will be up three pounds again! I put up pics of Kim cuz she's my 'other' wife....I'm startin to feel iffy about her tho...After watchin a couple episodes of her reality show, I'm startin to question her intelligence. It may be a front she's just puttin up for TV, or she really may be stupid, which is pretty much ground for immediate divorce in my opinion...I dunno. As for me, I listen to a cauldren of music. Primarily Old School Hip Hop and Rock (e.g. Run DMC, Tribe Called Quest, Incubus, MUSE etc.). I really enjoy listening to a style called "Mash Ups" which takes a song and blends other songs into it thus making a new song. I DJ also (as a hobby, not professionally) so I can make any type of music I like. Here is an example of how a music "Mashup" sounds.
