Yep... Did some cardio at lunchtime plus some leg pressing and calf raises. Now I'm plain tired.

1st Dec 2008 - COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS

Tonight I was up in the loft getting all the Christmas decorations down. Not long now! And not long before this "100miles before New Year" Challenge finishes. Hence I stepped up the cardio - probably to the detriment of the strength training. I managed a 45min cardio at lunch and a 10.75min warm-up tonight. However, BENCH PRESS was down in the doldrums again. Kiss that 100kg target goodbye for a while... I'll be lucky to lift 90kg in 6 months at my rate. The other CHEST stuff was okay. Definitely lost strength as I struggled to get 8 reps in the final sets. Triceps - forget it! Disaster-time with the Lat PullDown. Still, there's always next week...

30th Nov 2008 - AUTUMNAL SUNDAY

What a dreary day today. My father came over and I sorted out his "laptop computer problems" and then converted some videos to 3gp format to stick on his phone. He left a happy bunny. After an afternoon spent raking the garden, clearing the windfall apples and mowing the grass, it was down to me to cook the Sunday dinner (roast chicken, etc). So I decided to mutitask - a bad idea for a man!! But I managed it. I cooked dinner, got 40mins on the X-Trainer, and dished out the dinner without burning it! My wife has had to pop next door and babysit for them whilst I've just bathed and got the boys ready for bed. The fun bit was reading them some stories... Now it's Daddy's time! (And time for a well-deserved beer)

Not too worse the wear from the 4 pints last night... This afternoon I bottled 40 pints of homebrew (Nelson's Revenge from Woodforde's Brewery) and kicked off another 40 pint brew. Hopefully the Nelson's revenge will be ready for Christmas. Apart from that, I felt the urge to go on the X-Trainer for 45mins late this afternoon so I did. And I am glad I did. Job done.

28th Nov 2008 - THE QUEEN'S HEAD PUB

That's where I've been tonight - 4 pints of Doombar and Golden something or the other, and I'm a bit tipsy. Glad I went as I had a real funny day. I was really tired from the trip and struggled this morning. Lunchtime I hit the gym bigtime - 10min cardio, some press-ups, crunches, etc., and then DEADLIFTS, LEG PRESSES & CALF RAISES. I had to force myself there but deadlifts-wise I managed heavier sets than last week (by mistake!) and a final 142.5kg (314lbs) x 5 reps. I sat there for a while and forced myself to do the leg pressing and calf-raises. Glad I did. But I felt wasted the rest of the day. Didn't even want to go out until my wife suggested it would be a good idea.I'm off to have a pint or 2 of water and hit the sack as it is now 12:45am!
